The Community Care Ministry is part of our Social Witness,
living out our faith through Reflection and Action.
There are several components of the Community Care Circle Ministry.
Shawl Ministry

The word ‘shawl’ comes into the English language in 1662 from the Persian word ‘shAl’. Shawls have been made for centuries and are universal and embracing. They comfort and enfold, wrap and warm, mother and hug. Those who knit and receive shawls are loved and blessed.
 
The Shawl Ministry at OUMC has given many shawls to persons in need, persons in various life transitions. It is a healing ministry outreach that has blessed many in the several years of its existence.
Eucharistic Ministries

Eucharistic Ministers take and serve the elements of Holy Communion to those who are not able to be with us in worship each month.  These persons may be at the hospital, nursing home, or their own home.  Persons interested in becoming part of this ministry can contact Pastor Steve. 
  
 

Visitation Ministries       


Visitation Ministry engages in visiting those persons who are known within the congregation that may be homebound or unable to attend services and activities, as well as persons who are new to the area and/or the church.
